Problem between Telecom socket and House connection
4 years ago
Hello everyone,
I recently moved to new apartment and I have new internet contract with hybrid connection with SpeedPort Pro Plus. Technician had visited today to connect/activate the DSL line. I guess he activated the line from House connection but the internet from DSL line was not working. The technician later said there is a problem between my telecom socket and House connection. He said he can fix it but requires another appointment. Mein Technischer App does not seem to work to schedule new appointment. I have no clue what is happening and why there is problem in the first place. Even if I schedule new appointment by phone call, I have no understanding about the problem the technician mentioned and how to proceed. I am kind of lost. Currently, I am using LTE part of hybrid connection.
Any ideas or suggestions?

That's weird. If the problem is such that it can be fixed by a Telekom technician, they should be able to do it righ awy.
However, the actual cable between the house connection point (called " APL " in Telekom lingo) and the TAE socket in an apartment is typically owned by the landloard and should be fixed by them (they can hire an an electrician to do the work).
Either way, I'll highligh this thread to the Deutsche Telekom support team, maybe they can have a look in your file and see whats's up with your connection. Please have a little patience, the team is usually quite busy.

thank you for the kind talk on the phone!
As promised, I called our subcontractor and was told about the problem in detail.
For it is a little more complicated than I thought and I fear, I could probably not explain it too well on the phone, I'll write down what needs to be done, I hope this is fine with you.
It's about how @lejupp described it: The technician found that a part of the cable (about 50 metres) between the house connection and your socket is defective and needs to be renewed. For that part lies in the responsibility of the owner/landlord, we would need you to contact him and find out about the following.
Should we do the renewal, or does another electrician company normally do these kind of works?
If we should do them, we would need power of attorny and instructions about how we are allowed/supposed to lay the new line.
If normally another company does these works, we'd ask him to contact them and let them lay a new line.
Afterwards, we'll make a new appointment to finish the installation and make sure you have full access.
I'm sorry for the complications, I would have wished for an easier solution.
Kind regards

Hi @Markus Km. , @Anna J.
The owner called the Technician to check the issue and now the owner is telling me that the cables are fine and the problem is by the Telekom and no one else is allowed to check the connection apart from Telecom. Also, the owner told me there was never cable problem in the past so, I do not understand at all what else to do.

Hi @Markus Km. , @Anna J.
The issue with the DSL connection is solved. The technician came today and found out that the cable from Telecom Distribution Box was splitted into another box somewhere inside the basement. So basically they had to connect at two different connection boxes. Now, the DSL signal is available in the flat and the internet is also working fine. And we do not need to change the cables.
Thank you very much for the help.
