Can I use this 1&1 glasfaser Netzanchlussgerät instead of Telekom Glasfaser Modem2? My Telekom Glasfaser contract starts on April 2025. I am changing from vodafone kabel to Telekom glasfaser and would like to know if I can buy this cheap device from ebay?

I'm not sure if the model is compatible with today's Gigabit FTTH . I would buy the current fiber optic modem-2. or a router with an integrated fiber optic modem. for example, Speedport-Smart-4-plus_Rent or Fritzbox 5590, 5690pro,...

Since 1&1 also supplies something like this for contracts operated via Telekom fiber optics, it should work. However, in the event of problems, there will probably only be very limited support.

Thanks @RoadrunnerDD @Johannes P. and @Marcel2605 , I plan to use modem with pfsense router setup. Say Fiber modem for Fiber to RJ45 conversion and connect the modem directly to pfsense router(like this from amazon). Is this allowed in Telekom?

Today I activated my modem Telekom Glasfaser modem 2 and received an email that
the registration was successful
and that I can start using the internet.
But I do not receive internet connection once I connected my router to the modem.

I called the customer service. They said they can send someone only tomorrow. So no internet today. Not sure if it will be fixed tomorrow. I work from home and I rely on the internet. I loose a lot of money. My biggest mistake of having chosen Telekom. The worst internet service provider.
