Use of Utiq technology powered by your telecom operator
We, Telekom Deutschland GmbH, use the Utiq technology for digital marketing or analytics (as described on this consent notice) based on your browsing activity across our websites, listed here (only if you are using a supported internet connection provided by a participating telecom operator and consent on each website).
The Utiq technology is privacy centric to give you choice and control.
It uses an identifier created by your telecom operator based on your IP address and a telecom reference such as your telecom account (e.g., mobile number).
The identifier is assigned to the internet connection, so anyone connecting their device and consenting to the Utiq technology will receive the same identifier. Typically:
- on a broadband connection (e.g., Wi-Fi), the marketing or analytics will be performed based on the browsing activities of consenting household members’.
- on mobile data, the marketing will be more personalised, as it will be based on the browsing of the individual mobile user only.
By consenting, you confirm that you have permission from the telecom account holder to enable the Utiq technology on this internet connection.
You can withdraw this consent anytime via "Manage Utiq" at the bottom of this site or in Utiq’s privacy portal (“consenthub”). For more, see Utiq's privacy statement.

Hello @Vardis
Welcome to the community.
The credit alone is not enough. To ensure that the prepaid card is not canceled, you have to top it up approximately every 12-15 months.
To request reactivation, you can also do this via chat. Click here per Chat,
This is possible for 112 days from the shutdown. After reactivation, at least €15 must be reloaded once.
The Telekom-hilft team can also help.
To do this, please fill out your profile completely. (-to profile- )
Sorry, I don't speak German.
That's no problem. Everyone is welcome here and there are also English-speaking teams.
Greetings Marcel

I wasn't aware that credit to the prepaid needed be added periodically even if there was still some amount left.
As I have pointed out Telekom will remind you in advance that a recharge is required - or that alternatively the contract will be terminated.
Here you can see such a "friendly reminder" that I have received in January, and in fact if one does not react to such a message then the cancellation of the contract is decided

Wonderful. Thanks.
I don't remember receiving such a notification but possibly I missed it. Now I know and will be on the lookout in future.
Best wishes.

that for some reason has recently been deactivated
Probably Telekom announced s.th. like 6 weeks earlier that Telekom will cancel the prepaid contract unless you do a recharge.
even though I believe it still had associated credit.
Trigger for cancellation of a Telekom prepaid contract is not the credit amount, but rather the question "how long since last recharge".
You can try to call the hotline 0800 33 02202 (hoping that the peson answering the call can speak English) or the have s.b. German speaking call the hotline in your presence, in order to reactivate the SIM. A subsequent recharge will be required. And for the phone call an authentication is required, the customer number will be asked.

Many thanks @Carolin L. .
I appreciate the call and your help! I have set up recurring payment via the MeineMagenta app which should address the requirement that credit needs to be added at least once per year and that of course a positive credit needs to be maintained.
Thanks again you and the community member @marcel2605 who put us in touch.
Best, Vardis
