Technician appointment - Do I need to be present and does the router need to be there?

vor 2 Jahren

Hello and happy holiday!

I'm moving to a new apartment and have set up a technician appointment to set up my internet. However due to delay on the landlord side I'm not in the new apartment yet but they are willing to open the door for the technician to come in.

My question is, do I need to be present at the appointment and do I need to bring the router with me? My router is Telekom Router Speedport Smart 4 which I own.

Thank you!

      Hi @Yi-Hang

As long as the technician can get into the apartment and the APL (usually in the basement), everything is fine.
You don't have to be there.
And the technician doesn't bring a router.
Or do you have a fiber optic connection?

I see! No it is not a fiber optic connection.

Does the technician need my router to set up the internet? In my home country modem and routers are separate and usually modem is the minimum requirement to have an internet.

      Thanks again!

      Hi,

No, the technician has measurement equipment to check if the desired DSL signal arrives at the TAE terminal (where you plug in your router later). Once this is the case, everything should be fine. Your Smart 4 will set up itself automatically once you install it.

      Best wishes,

      Thomas
