Paying for 300Mbps and getting less than DSL?

Hi there,

So... I've lately been seeing my download speeds are super low... I don't know what changed but, for some reason I cannot seem to get more than 100Mbps maximum, sometimes it hits 110Mbps or 120Mbps but most times not more than that. I'm paying for the HybridXL packaged (Up to 300Mbps, as advertised) and I rarely get even close to that. 

I've restarted the router and this sometimes helps for a few minutes but the connection drops back low again, this is present on all devices tested. It is no isolated to a single machine. 

A firmware update DID occur on the router in the past week or so, and since then it's been like this. I'm wondering what I'm paying 70 euro for when I am not really receiving the speeds I was promised on initial contract sign up. Any suggestions?

      Convenient that you ignore my previous post showing that your claim that speed tests don't show the full speed is proven wrong. 

      And you want me to explain all that to prove what exactly? I understand English  should is explain how that works too? Or are you going to continue to add pointless conjecture thus further derailing the conversation? 

      Please stop talking, if you dont work for Telekom then I have no further interest in you or your need to hang around forums irritating people who are just trying to figure out why they're unable to do their job because the Internet they're paying for is not up to the promised speed.

      Maybe it's kind of some missunderstanding: A Telekom tarif privides the contracted data-speed, even if it has the hybrid option. Usually the combined data-rate is in same range which is contracted. Example: If you have 100MBit/s contract, the option ensures you get 100MBit/s. (even if troubles DSL reduced DSL-sync). And there is a little boost: On heavy load, the option proivides some boost witch might be higer than contracted. - But this bools is only short term, it does not extend your 100MBit/s contract to 300MBit/s.

      Das Missverständnis liegt hier auf deiner Seite, bitte informiere dich erst über die Hybridtarife bevor du so etwas verbreitest und Kunden noch verunsicherst.

      So, is there anyone who can clarify what the issue is here? 

      I know the comment section got a little off-topic here before, and for my engagement with that - I apologise however, I do need assistance regarding this situation. 

      Update - 

      It appears the 5G connection is the issue. Looking into the router, I found that the 5G connection from the outdoor modem is just connecting with LTE so speeds are limited. 

       

      Second Edit - 

      On the customer portal, this is showing - 

       

      Something is wrong here. 

      Update 2. 

      I've found that the IP address listed in the Telekom Customer Portal for my router is not matching what my router is actually displaying. So I believe there is some kind of mismatch, hence why I cannot run any of the diagnostics from the web portal or application on my phone.

      Today it's much slower with the following - I am beginning to think it's perhaps the Speedport 4. Is there a chance to swap out the device to a newer unit and test? At this rate, I'm confident if I don't get this resolved soon, I'll be hit with disciplinary or something from work.

      I got your thread very late now, and I don't know if it's okay to call you this late in the evening. 

       

      Such speed tests might be defective, too. And if you're testing a wifi connection, you always have a loss which is inherent in the nature of the Wi-Fi connection. So the result can differ from the real bandwidth. 

       

      If the wifi connection is not efficient, this could be an issue of the router. But it might also be related to the wifi settings in the router menu. Or if you're using a wifi repeater, there's another device that could have a negative influence. 

       

      To really check the connection, turn the wifi signal off on the router. Then connect your device by a LAN cable, and then run a speedtest. We recommend this one: https://www.breitbandmessung.de/

       

      In this setting the connection with DSL only should be 100 Mbit/s. If it is faster than the connection with DSL + LTE , then the cell id is possibly working at full capacity.
