Synchronisation t-online-Mail mit dem MacBook Air / iMac und apple-Mail funktioniert seit gestern nicht mehr.

In den Internet-accounts von Mac OS erscheint plötzlich die Meldung "Accountname/Passwort konnte nicht überprüft werden". bis gestern abend lief viele Monate alles problemlos. Passwörter (auch das eMail-PW) wurden nicht geändert. (MacOs High Sierra und macOs Catalina).
Allerdings habe ich gestern im iPhone auf die neue Sync-app umgestellt. Dort lassen sich die t-online mails ohne Probleme synchronisieren. Gibt es hier einen Zusammenhang?
