Ein passiver Prüfabschluss ( PPA ) dient zu Messzwecken im Telefonnetz. 

Der PPA besteht aus einer Reihenschaltung einer Diode und eines Widerstandes 470 kΩ (±1 %), die zwischen a-Ader und b-Ader der Teilnehmeranschlussleitung geschaltet sind
