Speedport Smart 3 using 2.4 GHz with multiple random disconnections since last firmware update

Hello

I am using Speedport Smart 3 with 2.4 GHz frequency

Since last firmware update I get multiple random disconnections up to 100 times a day

I am not able to solve the issue myself or to rollback to the former firmware

As a workaround I set it up to use 5 GHz frequency which is working fine so far

Can you please help me to solve the issue and get back to 2.4 GHz?

Thank you

      @hadi.hashem

      Why do you want to use the way way slower and overcrowded 2.4Ghz frequency if 5Ghz right now works fine for all your devices?

      2.4Ghz is extremely overcrowded, nearly any device is sending something there, a stable connection there can't really be guaranteed.

      @FelixKruemel

      It is actually the opposite in my area: 5 GHz is the less performant

      And 2.4 GHz was working very fine before the last update

      Hello @hadi.hashem,

      have you already tried to change the WLAN-channels at your Speedport Smart 3? Which devices do you use at your local network and are connected to your Speedport?

      Kind Regards
      Malte M.

      Hello @Malte M.

      no I use the default settings

      the devices and channels are the same before I update the firmware

      i can see the problem easily on my laptop /TV (impact of disconnections)

      There is also my phone and a few Thermostats connected to the same network

      regards

      Good morning @hadi.hashem,

      if you haven't tried to change the WLAN-channels in the configuration menu of your router yet, please do so now. I'm looking forward to receiving your feedback. Another thing you could try is to restart the device, but i would bet you've alredy done that 🙂

      If changing the WLAN-channels doesn't improve your situation, please let me know. I could also call you after that test and check the device together with you. I just need to know when a call would suit you.

      Best regards,
      Louisa G.

      Greetings @hadi.hashem,

      I informed my colleagues about your firmware issues.
      Unfortunately I couldn't get the older version of your firmware and I asked my colleagues for that, too.
      As soon as I get feedback from them I will inform you here.

      Best regards,
      Louisa G.

      Hello again @hadi.hashem,

      I just got a message from my colleagues about the WLAN disconnections. The issue you reported could not be reproduced or be observed in connection with the firmware version. Nevertheless I received a download link, where you can download the older version. You just hast to install it by yourself. I'll send you the link via PN here within the comunity.

      If the firmware downgrade doesn't help, just reinstall the latest version and observe. If the issue continues to occur, please let me know.

      Best regards,
      Louisa G.
