Recieved a follow up e-mail asking for scans of my ID card, registration paper and debit card
9 days ago
Recently I have started the process of getting an internet connection to the flat I have gotten registered at, today as my order has started being processed I have recieved an e-mail with the following text
Is this legitimate? The e-mail it's been sent from seems to be legitimate as it ends with @dms-reply.telekom.de but I'd rather make sure
Will a polish ID card be accepted? The question asks for either a german one or a passport, of which I have neither
The third question asks about a scan of bank card with visible IBAN number, what card is it supposed to be? I believe it most likely means debit card but debit cards don't have IBANs on them, so I'm unsure if I understand it correctly
Or perhaps a bank statement?

Hello @JKaczmarek
I also find this mail strange, especially the point regarding copy of the bank card.
I personally would never make a copy of my bank card and send it to somebody.

After giving it a bit more thought I think it might have been just an honest mistake, I feel like the sender of that e-mail meant bank statement which contains IBAN can be used to verify someone's identity, I've seen it happen a couple times
Still, better safe than sorry

Hello @JKaczmarek
I think I can answer your questions directly here without a phone call.
That's all correct. When you place an order, we are required to request your information to ensure everything is correct. For this, we require a registration certificate, a copy of your ID, and a valid bank account. If you are a customer of a foreign bank, you can also provide this account for the deduction of fees.
Kind Regards Wiebke
