Are there any signs of life on the wired Ethernet interface Brettern the computer and the router, e.g. can you ping the router's IP address from the computer?

Is there any chance you could test the wired connection to the router with a different computer, like friend's laptop computer?

What model is your router?

Thanks for the advice I was going through pinging the router and once i logged into it discovered that actually it needed a system software update. Don't know why that didn't affect the WiFi but oh well, seems to be working now. Thanks!
